Altering Your Perspective

I believe that we are all psychic, each one of us. That we all have multiple gifts in varying degrees and it's up to us to open the doors of spiritual awakening. You are an amazing soul light, born with this gift called intuition and multi-sensory ability. Some of us are just more aware of it then others. It is this awareness, that fosters encounters with Spirit as our perspective develops and expands. "I called my friend Michele last night on the way home and she was able to validate almost 100% of everything that was said last night.  EVEN some of the stuff I thought was clearly for me!!  Just to recap, Michele is the lady I work with who found her friend/neighbor deceased almost a year ago.  The only "verifiable" message I have ever received came from Liz the night of the Jacuzzi "incident." 

Needless to say, it has been a difficult year for Michele in coping and adjusting to the loss of her friend.  Recently, Liz's house sold and people have been moving her things out of the house.  Michele is really not handling that too well and since she lives across the street, she spent the better part of last weekend out "shopping" to not have to watch the movers.  I told Michele that Liz was with her the whole time.  Probably trying to just be around her and help support her through this week.  I also told her that Liz probably got tired of "tapping" her politely on the shoulder and decided to find another route for her information because she dialed in loud and clear last night.

At the beginning of the message, I was not sure it was for me....I know a Courtney but the bedroom covered in stars kind of threw me.  Leave it to Liz to toss out "well something is wrong with the Jacuzzi." to get my attention back.  Michele's daughter's name is Whitney and yes, her bedroom is covered in stars.  Michele's deceased grandmother's name is Jean (Jean or Jane) Rose (lady with a flower's name).  They are painting her daughters room taupe (her and her husband had just gotten back from Home Depot and there are paint cans everywhere with taupe paint).  She almost fainted when I mentioned the vinyl blind.  Apparently her plantation blinds do not keep out the morning sun and she has to sleep with a face mask.  She told her husband while they were at Home Depot, " Go find me a thick white 1950s vinyl, pull down shade for the room.  I know it's going to look white trash but I have got to get some sleep."  Guess Liz got a chuckle out of that. 

The whole lobster reference was for her.  The last dive trip Liz and Michele took, they saw HUGE Caribbean lobsters.  Michele swears they are big enough to pinch your head off.  But Michele is deathly afraid of them.  Liz would laugh at her underwater and would occasionally give her the scuba sign for LOBSTER just to scare her.  I asked, "does the underwater sign for lobster look anything like Richard Nixon waving his fingers?".  Michele confirmed that is exactly what it looks like.  She also stole the back of my closet door....you asked if I had long things like belts hanging there.  Michele has all of Liz's belts hanging on the back of her closet door.  (Again she almost faints.  By now I have her UNDIVIDED attention) 

She almost ran over a neighborhood kid a few days ago.  It was a close enough call for her to get out of the car and talk to the kid.  (Big caution around elementary school children playing in the neighborhood).  It makes sense that the basketball statement threw me.  Again, it was her son Derrick that plays basketball constantly and was burning a CD a couple of days ago.  I didn't get a response from (thank you for the flowers), she was quiet from crying.  When she could talk again, I asked, "did you just buy a new pair of jeans?".  "And shoes," she squeaked.

The new trees on the lot was verified and probably the most amazing statement (as if all of this is not incredibly amazing).  Liz always told Michele when she was alive that she needed to take better care of herself.  That she always did for everyone else and she needed to take a little time to "pretty" up for herself.  Needless to say, Michele is eternally grateful but I told her to pass that on to Liz and I would pass it on to you.  Sometimes it's fun to be the telephone line.  I told her that Liz was obviously letting her know that she was always around but especially during this particularly hard time.  And maybe she shouldn't try soooo hard to ignore the "tappings" on the shoulder. Hope this brightens your day.  It sure has mine."

BACKGROUND: Steve had come to me to reach his mom on the other side. Although she came through with flying colors and had even answered some specific questions he asked during our session, she refused at the time to answer the last question he asked which was…..”Did my mom send a message to me at the time of her death, letting me know she had passed because my dog sat straight up in bed from a deep sleep at the precise moment she died?” Below is email exchanges which tell a great story. The first email is from a friend of mine to me and the other is then my email to Steve.

"Dear Kat,

Thought you might be interested in this story posted on the PBGV discussion group. Two members' Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen dogs died this week, and there has  been discussion related to that.  Marguerite posted the following message.  I know her personally, so this is credible information.  PWD is another breed of dog, Portuguese Water Dog.  Some of you may remember my mentioning Pat, the PWD breeder who helped me train Thumper.  She told me of a dog she bred and helped train, a PWD who traveled with his owner/mom in her car, keeping her company as she was in sales and covered a territory that included Connecticut.  One very late night, Pat got a call from the Connecticut State Police.  The woman had a terrible accident on the Merrit Parkway, a twisty windy road.  The emergency medical personnel could not get to the woman because the dog was protecting her and wouldn't let them near her.   The police found Pat's number in the woman's pocketbook and called.  They said they would shoot the dog to get to the woman if they needed to so Pat told them how to properly coach the dog to allow them near, and then she went quickly to the scene to get the dog and take him to the vet ER while they took the woman to the hospital.  Having no other contact for the woman, the emergency personnel had wrote Pat down as next of kin.

The dog checked out okay in the vet ER, and Pat took him home with her and took him into bed.  He had been through a lot that day, so she didn't want him in a crate by himself.  At exactly ten minutes to 5:00 a.m., the dog sat bolt upright in bed and started to howl.  Pat tried to comfort him and calm him down as best she could. About a half hour later, Pat, as the woman's official next of kin, got a call from the hospital.  They said the woman had passed away.  Pat asked what time the woman had died, and they said "4:50 a.m."  Pat and I believe that the lady did not depart this world without coming to say goodbye to the dog she loved.  Bless all our dogs whom we love so much, and my heart goes out to those who have just lost good friends this week, and at any other time. They are always with us, forever."

I don't believe in coincidences and found it very interesting that after we finished our session and you left my office today, I was then reading emails and came across the email above explaining the SAME incident you described and asked me about in our session. If mom had come to the dog and he sensed her presence there in the room right after she passed.  The email was sent to me by a woman who is in charge of a Near Death Experience Studies Group here in Dallas.  Personally...I think your mom is answering your last question you had for me prior to our ending your session. I told you at the time of our reading that Mom was telling me you would be shown in another way (and one that would teach you something) and that indeed your intuition was right about your dog awakening you when mom passed. BACKGROUND: Sometimes when in a group reading or gallery session, folks will remain quiet when I'm delivering messages. There are a myriad of reasons for this. Some are too shy to speak up, some people do not want to "take away" from another person's chances in the audience if they see they have already been able to also acknowledge what is "coming through," and some folks may simply not recognize their loved one coming through because they are expecting someone else to "show up" from the other side. Never the less, by the end of the gallery, they usually will piece it together and/or will figure it out once they return home and can share the reading with other family members who then recognize the information and the loved one who had tried to come through. Below is an example of this.

"Hi Kathleen!

I wanted to take a minute to let you know that I have been on cloud nine ever since last week’s gallery! You may recall that I thought some of the messages you were receiving were for me, but I was afraid that maybe I was being a “relative stealer.”  As you went around the room reading several people, I found things you said to them to apply to me and my family.  Especially a few things that the others were not able to validate.  Without going over every little detail, I’ll just give you the highlights.

You mentioned a “Richard” that goes by “Rich.”  You also mentioned a mother and daughter with the same name and you said you were getting a “Frank Sinatra” reference.  I have an uncle Rich (Richard), his wife and daughter share a name, and (the best part) his father-in-law’s nick-name was “Frank” because he looked so much like Frank Sinatra when he was younger.  To top it off, last Wednesday the day all this took place was “Frank’s” birthday!  As amazing as all of that is, a phone call with my mom the next day sent chills up my spine!  I was telling her about the possible reading I got from you and how I just wasn’t sure if maybe I was trying too hard to make things fit.  Then I remembered you asked if someone had “yellow flowers.” You said who ever was giving you this message ”liked the yellow flowers!“  Well, my mom went silent!

She could hardly speak! She goes to my brothers grave every week, at least twice a week.  She had just been that morning and changed out all of his flowers.  She replaced all of them with...guess what...YELLOW  flowers!!!!!!!!!!  She said while she was doing it she thought to herself, "I wonder if Daniel would like these." She always has quite beautiful arrangements made for him, but she never had ALL yellow before.  The flowers are such a big deal to her I can’t even begin to tell you!  Since he died she has never gone more than a week without going to his grave to take care of his flowers.  If she is out of town she gets me to step in for her.  She not only takes care of his flowers, but also those around him.  Daniel always has at least five or six arrangements by him at all times. It is always kept so beautiful.  Total strangers have commented to me about his gorgeous flowers.

During our first reading with John Edward, he said that Daniel saw my mom lighting candles for him (she does every week after mass) and that he really appreciated it.  As much as I know she loved hearing that, I know she wondered why he didn’t mention the flowers.  You said spirits like to get the most bang for their buck, well I have certainly found that to be true!!  In addition to the validating my mom was able to do, I received my own validation minutes after my phone call with her.  I did as you said and asked my brother Daniel to give me some validation to let me know for sure that all of this was for us and I wasn’t just trying to make it fit.

Well, I hung up with my mom and my sister called.  She said, "Are you sitting down?" (never good -right!?) It seems that my precious little nephew (3yrs. old) out to the blue said, ”Mommy, Uncle Daniel is not up in the sky any more, he is at JuJu’s (what he calls me) new house. I saw him there when we were there visiting.” 

You see, my sister lives out of state and when she and my nephew visited us last month, I took them to see our new house under construction. Apparently my nephew saw Daniel there.

That is so incredibly important to me! I have really been struggling with our move for several reasons. One of the main reasons as silly as I know it is, is because the last time my WHOLE  family was together at my old house was the night before Daniel died. I can still see him standing on my front sidewalk saying good-bye to us.  I know better than to believe he won’t come with me to our new home, I know he will, but to have that validated from my little nephew...WOW! What a gift!

All of this took place the morning after the gallery session and my prayer to Daniel for some sort of sign that those messages were for me!

I wanted to share this with you Kathleen for several reasons, but mainly just to thank you!  I am sure that you are often told that the work you do is wonderful and helpful to so many.  Well, please add me to that list!  To be able to share these messages and what I have learned from you with my sister and parents has been such a blessing. I feel I have been on a new journey of sorts after losing my brother, and I am so glad to have met you along the way!

BACKGROUND: It is common in a reading to not always be able to immediately understand or validate the information being passed on to you from your loved one in the hereafter. Below is a good example of this and why it is imperative that you record or write down all the messages relayed to you, especially those which you do not understand. If you trust and remember the information you'll find it is always validated at a later time.

"Hi Kathleen,

I want to thank you very much for the reading you gave me on April 10th.  A couple of things came to light a day or so after the reading that I wanted to share. Like I said before I am somewhat of a skeptic (unless I have solid proof) and I have to say I am truly amazed at your perception!  Anyway, the first person that came through was a woman who's name started with an S. This was the one person I had hoped would come through, my grandmother Stella whom you said died abruptly by falling over...which is true, she did die unexpectedly and fell down in the process.  What came to light however, was she had mentioned "Niagara Falls" and a "Wreath with Purple Flowers" which at the time made no sense to me whatsoever.  However, the next morning on my way back from the Post Office I noticed a neighbor down the road who had two huge wreaths with purple flowers hanging off the top. I found that strange and not so coincidental.  Then the next day I happened to call my Aunt who is the grandmother of my two cousins that recently passed in a fire...(whom did not come through in the reading and has no ties to my grandmother Stella)  when I asked what she was doing, she made mention that she was planning a trip with my other grandmother to NIAGARA FALLS!  She said she had it planned for the past year and was suppose to be taking my cousins (the fire victims) on school vacation and decided to go after all in spite of their passings because that's what the girls would have wanted.  In turn my grandmother who went with my aunt on the trip had just hung a new wreath with purple flowers on her front door a few days before that!  I'm sure it's not the most shocking revelation you've heard but I have to say it was a really cool experience for me and I thank you for taking the time to speak with me. I hope to have another reading again in the future.  Take Care."

BACKGROUND: In recognizing in our own children that they may possess "gifts" of being very spiritual or exhibiting behavior indicative of clairaudient or clairvoyant abilities, it's sometimes confusing for parents who not only want to make their child feel comfortable with this power but also the proper way to embrace it and use it to their advantage. Below is an exchange I had with Michelle offering some easy suggestions to assist her in this process.

My daughter (16 years old) has been talking to me lately about having "intuition" feelings. She has been working at an ice cream store and has told me that she knows what most customers will order before they tell her. I have talked to her a little about my experiences. But, I do not know how far to talk to her about it. I want to be able to help her through her experiences so that she does not develop the "fear" that I did. Do you have some suggestions of how to continue to talk to her about it? Thanks!"

"Hello Michelle:

Thanks for writing. Many times we assume we have to explain in terms only familiar to us (people who have practiced developing their spiritual/psychic feelings). But our gifts are a part of our soul nature and who we are. You might consider using terms SHE will understand such as saying 'angels' instead of 'spirit guides.' You can tell her how she has these angels around her and have been with her always, and how they help her to see and feel information so that she can make the best choices while here. That THAT is why she can guess the ice cream, because they are teaching her to recognize her abilities so she can then pay attention and recognize when they give her more serious information and dialogue regarding bigger decisions in her life and how she impacts others as well. It's all in how you present it. Hope this provides you with some clarity. Many blessings!"

BACKGROUND: Are ghosts real? Yes. But there are many levels to the spiritual plane and entities, both ghosts, spirits, angels, spirit guides, as well as poltergeists reside on many of these varying levels. This next story explains a clearing exercise that is commonly used to get rid of an unwanted energy in a home.

"Dear Kathleen:

I've got a problem with an aggressive ghost. Well, my best friend has the problem. I listen to you every chance I get on 105.3 with Dan and Tasos, and I was wondering if you might be able to offer some advice that would help us. It's getting to a point that I'm actually worried about my friend's physical and mental health. My best friend, Sara, lives in Tennessee now. The area she lives in was once a large Mansion and estate, after that the land was turned into a girl's Baptist finishing school, and now a local Baptist college. Since she's moved into this apartment she's felt and seen a female ghost present. Over the past two weeks this ghost has gotten progressively more aggressive. It started with Sara getting light headed, then the ghost taking over and typing through her. When this happened the ghost asked for help, saying she needed to find her lover and let him know how she felt about him. Now it is to a point where the ghost is trying to take full control over my friend, saying she wants to live again. In her attempts to take control of Sara, the ghost is actually causing physical harm. Sara has several large bruises appearing on her arms, legs, and chest where the ghost "pinched" her. After each time the ghost talked through her, Sara became increasingly sore, and eventually passed out. What do we do? I've dealt with several ghosts, but have never seen behavior like this before. I'm not sure what course of action to take in order to protect my friends well being. Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you."

"Carl:

Thank you for your email. There are a few different things I suggest you forward to your friend that Sara can do to control and get rid of this ghost. No matter how simple these steps seem, please believe when I tell you, THEY WORK.

1) She needs to continually envision white-golden Godly light around herself, and her home. Whenever she thinks of it she needs to envision this in her mind. She is doing a protection exercise and the more she does this, the more it will become buried in her subconscious. The ghost cannot penetrate this. This ghost is currently "tapping in to" her energy and her aura and is gaining strength form her fear that it feels. The protection exercise will start to eliminate the ghost's ability to tap in to this.

2) Buy some sage herbs and burn them in a dish in the rooms of the house where she feels it's presence. This is a common clearing exercise done by Mediums, Psychics and Healers.

3) Buy some rock salt (found in any Whole Foods, Central Market etc.) and sprinkle a small amount of salt on the OUTSIDE of the house in front of and underneath all doors and windows (in other words, any opening in to the house).

4) Last but not least, light a candle and TELL the ghost that it is no longer allowed to be there and that it MUST leave and go to the light. The candle is to get the ghosts attention and let it know you mean business. Telling it to go to the light means "go to the eternal light of God" not to the light of the candle. DO NOT DO THIS RITUAL IN FEAR! The ghost senses your emotions and will use this fear to manifest itself and get stronger. You need to be comfortable and without fear when you do this. Just do the protection exercise, everyone that is in the house when you do the 4th step must do the protection exercise, and it should go fine.
