Food. It's not what you think.
Food is a state of mind! Most of us do not recognize why we eat. No kidding! We believe we are hungry when really, our body is just thirsty. And what we are eating when - has the lion share to do with how our body processes it - into fat or muscle. That is a BIG SECRET NO ONE TELLS YOU. It truly is chemistry. Our body does not need most of what we injest. So this means that what most of us crave and enjoy doesn't feed us bodily but it does seem to soothe us emotionally.
RULE #1) Refuse to continue allowing your emotions to feed you what it wants and instead let your body choose.

RULE #2) No processed foods of ANY kind.

Your brain is notorious for being a sugar glutton which is why we crave sugar and find such enjoyment in eating it. But our bodies will “find it” or create it” when we don't ingest it. That is the beauty of the universe and mother nature!
RULE #3) No sugar, candy, or other sweetners other than honey.
It's true our bodies require a lot of energy and sugar is its preferred source. But despite your mind’s love affair with those nasty carbs, it is more in love with survival. Your brain and body adapt, fueling itself instead with ketones – a byproduct of excessive fat breakdown when simple carbs are non-existent. In fact, your brain may have switched to this alternate fuel source without you even knowing it if you have ever eaten a very low-carb or ketogenic diet in the past. RULE #4) If Mother Nature didn't make it - DON'T eat it.

When purchasing your groceries look at the following food list for items you can mix and blend in a variety on your plate that will make meal time exciting! Creating meals you can freeze helps but the fresher the meal, the better it's likely to work for you in a healthy lifestyle plan. Here's a short list of essentials foods you'll stock in your kitchen and can reach for them often for convenience and substance like; eggs, pickles, chicken, sour cream, whipped cream, a variety of cheeses, butter, popcorn, cauliflower (your new bread), lettuce, bacon, dried cranberries, peppers, onions, sundried tomatoes, pudding, jello, tuna, celery and other vegetables to name a few. If that doesn't sound very appetizing - don"t fret! There a a wide variety of delectible foods that are no or very low carb you'll savor!
Make Shopping Fun. Think Outside The Box.
Remember you're going to change your buying habits to include fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. When bargain shopping for high quality food, check your local Farmer's Market for great prices. You can also ask your grocer what day of the week their deliveries of meats and veggies arrive so you get first pick of the best. Prices are lowered on those same items a few days later - and many foods maintain a healthy shelf life, giving you then a delicisous discount!
Dont count calories, ever!
Calorie counting will drive you crazy. Most dieters admit to leaving their diets in most part because of the humiliating and self-defeating task of staying within a low calorie budget. Healthy eating mean eating OFTEN and in good size portion to feed your body what it wants and needs for optimal performance. If you are getting creative with your food and sticking to a no-to-low carb food plan you CANNOT gain wait - ONLY LOSE! So enjoy not count calories!
